Matt K (Matthias Kornecki) discovered his passion for electronic dance music in 1992 and quickly became part of the Rhein-Main club scene. Hip-hop and 70s house shaped his early sound as a resident at Caveau in Mainz; when techno emerged, he moved from warm-up to main slots at Basement in Wiesbaden.
His energetic sets led to an appearance at XXL Nightgroove 2000 and the Bonzai Label Party at Palazzo in Bingen. Together with studio partner Martin Adams, he released early productions as Mak II on Over X Posure and as Ohrwerk Orange on the 10 Years Overdrive compilation. Further singles and remixes followed for artists including Marc Green and Voodooman, while Orange House releases appeared on Cherry Poppers.
In 2000, Matt K also performed at Frankfurt's U60311 during the first Terminal M party. Today he remains an established DJ and music producer in Mainz and the wider Rhein-Main region, as well as A&R at You Are Strange and founder of KORNECKIDESIGN.
Matt K is also a long-standing co-producer of Sophie Nixdorf and has contributed to the production of many of her original tracks and remixes.
His DJ history includes shared line-ups with Sven Väth, DJ Rush, Chris Liebing, Monika Kruse, Umek, Adam Beyer, Gayle San, André Galluzzi, Karotte and many more.
